A start-to-finish look at the Ginger & Spice wedding cake experience
If you’re here, chances are you care deeply about the details. Not in a fussy way—but in an intentional one. You’re planning a wedding where everything feels considered. Where the design is cohesive, the experience feels effortless, and nothing looks or tastes like an afterthought. Your cake isn’t just dessert—it’s part of the atmosphere.
That’s exactly where I come in. Here’s what working together looks like, from your first inquiry to your wedding day.
The Inquiry
It starts simply. You reach out with your date, venue, and a few initial details. I’ll confirm availability and invite you to the next step: a cake tasting and consultation—either in person or via a tasting box with a virtual consult, depending on what suits your schedule.
This is where we move from “ideas” to intention.

The Cake Tasting & Consultation
This is not a rushed meeting. And it’s definitely not just about flavors. Yes, you’ll taste cake (the good part). But just as important, we talk about your wedding as a whole.
We’ll walk through:
Your overall wedding aesthetic and design direction
Your venue, guest count, and timeline
Your décor, florals, tablescape, and mood
Pinterest boards, inspiration images, and what you’re drawn to
What matters most to you in your cake—design, flavor, presence, or all three
If you’re considering a dessert bar, we’ll explore that too—how it complements your cake, how it flows with your reception, and how it becomes part of the visual story rather than a separate add-on.
We’ll also cover the unglamorous but essential details:
Venue logistics and access
Setup timing
Any restrictions or special considerations
Who my point of contact is on the wedding day
You don’t need to have everything perfectly figured out. That’s my job. You just need to show me what you love.

Behind the Scenes: Design & Direction
After our consultation, I step into design mode. I take everything you shared—the feeling, the colors, the textures, the setting—and begin shaping a cake concept that fits seamlessly into your wedding aesthetic.
You’ll receive:
Thoughtful design direction and suggestions
A detailed quote based on your vision
Guidance if adjustments or refinements make sense
Once we finalize the design, I complete your final cake sketch and confirm all flavor selections. At this stage, everything is clear. No guessing. No loose ends.
Booking & Confirmation
To officially secure your date:
A contract is sent for review and signature
An invoice is issued with a 50% retainer required
Once that’s complete, your wedding cake is booked—and you can mentally cross it off your list. This is where the experience becomes intentionally quiet.
The Weeks Leading Up
From here on out, the process is seamless and largely invisible to you. I coordinate behind the scenes with your venue and planner as needed. I confirm logistics, timing, and setup details. I prepare, design, and execute everything exactly as planned.
You won’t get last-minute questions. You won’t get check-in calls on your wedding morning. You won’t need to manage or oversee anything. Because you shouldn’t have to.

Your Wedding Day
On the day itself, I arrive, set up, and step away—quietly. Your cake and desserts are placed with intention, styled to feel like they belong in the space, and ready to be enjoyed. There are no interruptions, no decisions required, and no calls to you.
You’re busy being present. I’m busy making sure everything looks and tastes exactly as it should.
The Experience, In a Sentence
Working with me is designed to feel calm, thoughtful, and fully handled. You bring the vision. I translate it into a cake experience that feels effortless, elevated, and unforgettable.
If that’s the kind of energy you want surrounding your wedding day—you’re in exactly the right place.
